What a lovely place We stayed there for 6 nights for my son's wedding in one of the three rooms. We enjoyed ourselves very much. The breakfast - done in the attached cafe. Extremely good full English - I particularly loved the field of mushrooms that was part of it as I love mushrooms! With porridge to start and toast afterwards it really set us both up for the day. They get a lot of passing trade in the cafe and you can get lunches there as well (and cream tea!). It is a short walk to the village itself (no path in parts) where the local pub serves amazing dinners There is a regular bus service to Exeter one way and Okehampton the other - saves having to find parking spaces - and the buses stop outside the Guest House. Exeter in particular is a hidden gem One small suggestion - increase the lighting over the shaving mirror That comment mustn't detract from the fact we really loved the place, a period building, good food and incredible views across the fields.

The reasons I like this place: right next to A30 but feels like countryside. Clean basic outdoor loo block. Easy parking. DELICIOUS coffee by voyager (local roasters). Outdoor or indoor seating. Usually one or two unusual tasty hot meals on offer as well as huge old-fashioned cooked breakfasts. Unusual combination and feels very personally run

We had a wonderful breakfast stop on our way to Dorset, delicious, well presented food and friendly atmosphere. On our way back from Cornwall, we stopped off to have a delicious coffee and treat. Thank you for being there for a break and stunning location.

We visited the cafe for lunch. Great selection of food choices and excellent coffee. We had two of the smoked haddock chowders and one of the roast dinner baguettes. Would definitely recommend if you're in the area looking for a bite to eat.

Lovely cafe. We didn't stay, and only found it because the traffic was diverted, but so much nicer than a service station. Great food and friendly staff.

Just stopped for refreshments so cannot comment on rooms. Just off A30 perfect for something to eat/drink on your journey. Pretty and peaceful location (surprising as just off A30), friendly staff, lovely coffee and we ended up having food too. Full English was very good. Gluten-free also well catered for.
